Mutual Aid Disaster Relief is collecting funds to support the network’s response to Coronavirus.
Money from this fundraiser is being used to meet the direct needs of people impacted, and purchase materials, such as hand sanitizer, gloves, and masks for local mutual aid groups across Turtle Island to aid the most vulnerable communities and populations.
Many supplies of these material are out of stock. If you have access to or know of bulk supply of these materials, please email us at mutualaiddisasterrelief@gmail.com.
If you or your mutual aid effort needs supplies for your response to coronavirus, please email us at mutualaiddisasterrelief@gmail.com.
As of August, 2020, Mutual Aid Disaster Relief has dipped into our general funds to meet this moment, and spent over $80,000 to meet emergent coronavirus needs. As the crisis stretches on and is compounded by other simultaneous disasters, your contribution is needed to continue supporting people's survival and self-determination during this unprecedented time.
More about the network’s response to Coronavirus:
Street medics and community organizers within the mutual aid disaster relief network know that those at the highest risk of contracting and having serious complications with COVID19 are more often then not those with the least resources to take care of themselves and those who have historically been the most marginalized.
Organizers and medics across the country are preparing to and already responding to this health crisis. From Food Not Bombs chapters distributing food in to-go boxes and sanitization products to the people responding to those made houseless by the Nashville tornado to the street medics creating herbal wellness and mental health kits, we are organizing, we are acting in mutual aid, we are taking care of each other.
